EU SCHOOL MILK PROGRAMME

EU SCHOOL MILK PROGRAMME

Welcome to the information page on the EC School Milk Programme in Poland.

The School Milk Programme has been introduced to pupils in the European Community in 80’s in order to promote healthy life style and nutrition patterns for new generations.

The School Milk Scheme is administered by Agricultural Market Agency (ARR) since accession of Poland’s to the EU in 2004

Since November 2005 the EU School Milk Programme in Poland has been co financed by the Milk Promotion Found. In the school years 2005/2006 and 2006/2007 this aid was granted to consumption of milk in all types of schools as the EU aid (preschools, elementary schools and secondary schools). Since September 2007 financial founds are addressed to pupils/children attending preschools (3-6 years old) as well as lower secondary schools (13-15 years old). Thanks to this programme milk and milk products are delivered to children at lower price.

The EU School Milk Programme is additionally co financed by the National Aid since September 2007, to support the consumption of milk and milk products among children attending to elementary schools (age 6-12). Plain milk is delivered to children attending elementary schools - free of charge and other products are available at lower price.

With the support of the School Milk Program subsidy over 1 billion of “glasses of milk” has been consumed by pupils in Poland since 2004
